Selangor FC, Segi Fresh Collaborates To Donate Food To Those In Need

Selangor Football Club, Selangor FC today announced a collaboration with Syarikat Segi Value Holdings Sdn Bhd, in a mission to provide food aid to those affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The initiative known as Kit Ehsan Segi Fresh 2021 is part of the efforts of Red Giants Care, an entity created to do the charity work (CSR) of this football club, specifically working with corporate parties in an effort to help those in need.

Kit Ehsan Segi Fresh 2021 is a donation program that collects 10,000 bags of food containing wet/dry and fresh food items that will be distributed to the unemployed, disabled, and single mothers at several Segi Fresh branches in Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, Perak, and Malacca.

The program starts on July 26 2021 and will end when all the food bags are distributed to those in need.

This effort was also emphasized by the Chairman of Selangor FC, DYTM Tengku Amir Shah. According to him, the program was implemented because SFC believes this effort is a shared responsibility to help those in need.

“SFC is very grateful to Segi Fresh for this collaboration. To date, Segi Fresh has supported SFC a lot by sponsoring essential items to the club management. Now it is the turn of Selangor supporters who will be helped through donations of essential items that can to some extent ease the burden of those affected by this pandemic, ”explained Tengku Amir.

Director of Segi Value Holdings Sdn Bhd, Dato 'Syed Haizam felt that this was also a noble effort that could not only bring their brand closer to Selangor supporters, but at the same time, it was also an initiative that could be a channel for Segi Fresh to give something. back to their customers.

“The success of Segi Fresh today has been helped by our customers from all over the country, especially in the state of Selangor. So, when PKP hit and many of them were unable to work, we were called to give something to this community. Obviously, cooperation with Selangor FC is important because we see SFC is also a very active team in noble efforts off the field through their RG Care unit,” he explained.

For supporters who need food bag assistance from the program, they can apply directly through the steps provided at Selangor FC social media.

This effort is also a continuation of the Red Giants Care Foodbank program which is currently underway around Shah Alam. This is one of Selangor FC's commitments in helping Selangor supporters affected by the COVID-19 and PKP pandemic implemented in the state.

It is hoped that this effort can encourage other parties to join in helping the less fortunate and underprivileged communities in their respective areas.
